If you check out page 260 of the owner's manual for your 2016 Chevrolet Traverse it should say that if the model is an AWD and has the towing package then the max trailer weight it can handle is 5,200 lbs. You will want to be sure to check your owner's manual to verify this and to note any instructions on towing as well.
Some towing packages come with both a trailer hitch and wiring. If this is the case for you then you just need a ball mount, hitch ball, and pin and clip to complete your towing setup. I recommend checking out the kit # 989900 but you will want to referenced the linked ball mount article to ensure that the 3/4" rise/2" drop or 2-3/4" rise/4" drop will work for your towing application.
