Brake Light Relay Recommendation for Vehicle Where Braking System Pushes Brake Pedal
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I am getting a new Jeep TL model and I plan to flat tow it. It will have LED tail lights. I have read quite a bit about how the diodes do not work when you apply breaks and turn signal at the same time - if the vehicle breaks are applied by a supplemental brake system. Basically a conflict between 12 volts from the RV at same time from from the Jeep. Why couldnt a kit, using a 9 pole double pole - double throw switch, be used to choose between Jeep supplied power and RV supplied power? It seems that this would totally isolate the power supplies.

We have just what you need for you situation. Roadmaster makes a brake light relay part # RM-88400 which allows your supplemental braking system to apply the brakes without overriding the tow bar turn signals if the blinkers were on. We've also installed it on a similar Jeep Wrangler JK which I attached an install video for to this page.
