Should Sidewinder Pin Box be Difficult to Turn by Hand
Published 08/02/2018 >
Question:
My sidewinder has about 2,400 miles on it. Was told when I had it installed that it would loosen up the more I used it. You can not turn it by hand and it feels like it jerks in a slow turn with my truck. What is the problem?

Sidwinders do tend to loosen up slightly over time but they'll never be super easy to turn by hand. Yours still being difficult to turn would not be cause for concern. The jerking you are experiencing is most likely related to the wedge you are using with your hitch. What hitch do you have and which wedge? If we can get you a custom wedge for your hitch (if available) that will smooth out the turning.
