LED Tailgate Strip Recommendation for Rear of 2003 Ford Ranger

You will be able to use the Universal LED Tailgate Fire Strip Brake, Tail and Turn Lights, # TLB-001, on your 2003 Ford Ranger. The only requirement is that you have a 4-Way connector at the rear of your vehicle for the unit to plug in to and at least 48 inches width of the back of your truck to mount the lights. have a 02 F150 with an extreme LED Tailgate Bar from Recon which worked intermittently, then has stopped completely. Checked inline fuse, ok. It comes with a Load Resistor Kit that plugs into the trailer four wire connector. It is very hot when i was testing for a wire short. Could that be the problem? Thks

If it's getting really hot there is likely a short somewhere. Make sure the 4-Way itself on your truck is free of any debris or corrosion inside the pins. I would also use a circuit tester to test each pin on the 4-Way to make sure you're getting appropriate power with each light function. Let me know what you find and we can go from there.
