Are Relays Needed for Trailer Wiring on a 2009 Ford Escape

Question:

Hi just wondering if I just need to buy wiring kit #118251? My vehicle has the harness at the rear bumper just wondering if the tow package is infact pre wired from factory and I just need to install relays ?

If I'm seeing the location your picture shows correctly you will need to add three relays, part # TR38665, in order to activate the wiring on your 2009 Ford Escape. Without the relays the wiring, part # 118251, will not be activated. I've attached a picture from our video that points out the location the relays need to be installed.
