Gentlemen, Thank you for running such an in-depth forum I really appreciate all the advice you all provide. Vehicle: 2018 Nissan Armada, Factory front back supports for rail no crossmembers Im looking to purchase the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 69inch x 40inch x 6inch - 150 lbs - TH859XT-8591XT In my cart I also have ed the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders - Qty 4 - TH450400 Will the rack work for the Armada will the key locks work for the rack? Final Question: I need to purchase the cross members supports can I purchase the: Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack for Raised, Factory Side Rails - Aluminum Item # TH7503-TH7503 or if I prefer will the rhino rack cross member RRVA137B-2 work for the Thule Cargo basket and the Nissan Armada. Even though we haven't test fit the Thule Canyon XT # TH7503-TH7503 on a 2018 Nissan Armada I am confident that it will fit just fine and I'm pretty sure you could even get away with using the extension piece! The answer to your next question is yes, the Lock Cylinders # TH450400 will work with the Canyon XT. This is demonstrated in the attached review video.
I do have a solution for a roof rack but unfortunately Thule doesn't have a roof rack fit (like part # TH7503-TH7503 you mentioned) for your Armada so we will have to go with an alternative at this point. If you are wanting to go with the Rhino-Rack Vortex bars then you will need part # RRVA137B-2 along with the SX Series Legs # RRSX100 to install the Canyon XT. The bars come with plastic locks to secure equipment that is mounted in the T-Slots but if you would like to use metal cores you need part # RRVA-LEC4 as well.
If you were really interested in the design of the Thule roof rack system we actually have a similar looking roof rack system from Rhino-Rack that fits your Armada. Part # RRRSB07B gives you a single crossbar so you will need 2 of them while part # RRRSK01 is the short strap fit kit. The fit kit comes with locks so those would not need to be purchased separately.
