Question:
I just installed a hitch from E trailer. And now I am trying to wire my 2002 Ford Taurus station wagon for lights. I’ve got a Hopkins #48895 converter kit and I have successfully spliced into the left blinker and brake light. There is a brown wire on the converter for the “tail /marker “. Do you know what wire to splice into for that lead? I’m guessing that it may be the other wire on my brake light. there are three wires going to my brake light: red/green, which is the brake light black, which I believe is the ground and one between them. I imagine that is the only other one it can be. But since I have the time to wait for your reply, I thought I would ask you to at least take an educated guess.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The brown wire on the Hopkins Taillight Converter Kit with 4-Way Flat Connector # HM48895 is for taillights and because you know the red wire with the green stripe on your 2002 Ford Taurus is the brake light, and the light black (or grey) is the ground, the other wire between them is likely brown, is that correct? It is likely that this brown wire is also the taillight wire which you can splice into. Before doing that, I strongly urge you to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to verify.
