Troubleshooting Sidewinder Pin Box that Angles When Backed Up

Question:

It is difficult to unhitch the Reese sidewinder from the BW The Patriot 16 K hitch When I turn into or backup into my parking spot the sidewinder remains at a slight angle. I believe this causes the hitch and sidewinder to bind up. After extending the front jacks on my reflection I find that the release stuck. I checked the technical manual on the sidewinder and the correct plate is installed. Any ideas??

If when you back your trailer up straight the Sidewinder arm turns at a slight angle then you have a wedge issue. Since you have a B and W Patriot the correct wedge is the part # SWW-06 which you'd want to verify is the one you have and is installed properly. Make sure it's facing the correct direction and that all of the install bolts are torqued down to spec.

Could you send a picture of the jaws of your hitch and the wedge as well possibly?
