Adding a Rear View Safety Camera System to a Flagstaff Micro Lite Trailer with Furrion Wiring

Updated 06/13/2018 | Published 06/12/2018

Question:

My Flagstaff Microlite trailer is set up to mount a Furrion rear camera. Does this camera need a mounting adaptor to fit my trailer? Will the existing trailer camera wiring work with this system? Thanks

The Rear View Safety Kit # RVS-619N-913 includes the Universal Mirror Monitor # RVS-619N and the Third Brake Light with Camera for Chevy Express 2003-2019 # RVS-913 so the brake light will not mount very well on your Flagstaff Micro Lite trailer. Instead you would want a camera like part # RVS-917.

Since Rear View Safety and Furrion are different manufacturers their wiring is different. You may be able to splice the wiring but I recommend going with part # RVS-917619P which includes wiring to run from your camera to the multiplex box. It would be much easier to use this kit in conjunction with the Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit # RVS-213-613 though as this kit easily answer the question about how to connect the camera to the monitor without damaging the wire. If you plan on adding extra cameras in the future then you would want the Trailer Tow Quick Connect/Disconnect Kit # RVS-2133 instead.
