Recommended Underbed 5th Wheel Hitch Mount for 2017 GMC 1500 with 6-1/2 Foot Bed

Question:

Looking to install removable 5th wheel hitch so I can have full use of truck bed when not towing. Which system would best work with my truck? Underbed 5th wheel mount for 2017 GMC 1500 6-4 bed

There is not a Reese Elite Puck System Underbed kit abailable for your 2017 GMC Sierra 1500. Your best option is to use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # BWRVK3400-5W along with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BWGNRK1057. This combination will give you a gooseneck hitch, a clean bed, and a sliding 5th wheel hitch.

If you want an automatically sliding hitch, then you will give up the gooseneck hitch option, but you won't need to get out of the bed of your truck to adjust the slide travel for turning clearance. For that I recommend the Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for Demco Hijacker UMS 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # DM8551008. Then you will use the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550022. I've attached videos to assist.

You may also be interested in the Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug - 10' Long # DM8555002. This will give you a second working 7-way in the bed of your truck for easy access and a clean look.
