You'd have to go to a larger size of tie down to fit over a 1 inch diameter bar like the Erickson Ratchet Tie Downs part # EM31425 which has an opening of 1-1/4 inches. The # 3113DAT is designed for bars that are 7/8 of an inch in diameter.
