Question:
I have installed the adapter into my truck and adjusted it so that there is no vertical movevent but there is now some movement front to back. It moves when tapped by a hammer. Is this normal?

Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 25,000 lbs # RP30154 is designed for adjustment vertically for a snug fit against the bed but moving front to back is not further adjustable and should be minimal. I recommend readjusting the anchors so that you don't have that movement. The hitch itself that will go on this adapter will absorb some of that movement, but if not remedied will cause chucking as the trailer moves front to back when starting and stopping.
I've attached the installation details to help with mounting the adapter.
