Question:
Once the wedge is installed to lock the 5th wheel from rotating, what is the procedure for unhooking the trailer? Does this wedge have to be removed?

Because the wedge contacts the funnel of the fifth wheel hitch, you will need to do a good job of having the vehicle lined up with the fifth wheel when hitching up, but other than that, the procedure for hitching and unhitching the trailer will not change. The wedge will remain in place and should not be removed.
