For your 2005 Subaru Forester we only have Class II trailer hitches that are 1-1/4 inch size openings like the Draw Tite part # 36311. The larger hitch size of 2 inch is designed for larger vehicles with higher capacities like trucks and SUVs.
The # 36311 can still carry a bike rack or tow a small trailer though so it still is a great option. I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well.
I really like the Saris SuperClamp EX part # SA4025F for a bike rack..
This is a platform bike rack that only touches the bike at the tires and only weighs 35 lbs. The biggest drawback to platform bike racks has always been the weight of them, but with this rack you get the best of both worlds. The preferred attachment style with the lighter weight.
