Troubleshooting Hopkins 12-Volt Power Socket # HM55115 Only Supplying 8V of Power

Question:
Installing this was a breeze, but I am only drawing 8v according to my voltmeter - any suggestions?

I would start off by making sure that the ground of the Hopkins 12-Volt Power Socket # HM55115 is secure and connected to a clean, bare-metal surface. Even some paint could potentially cause issues.
Aside from that I would just make sure that none of your wiring is damaged.
Let me know if neither of those solutions work and I can help you troubleshoot further.
