Can the 9,500 lb Off-Road Bulldog Winch be Used to Pull Trailer Up Driveway

Question:
Hi. I have a double axle 21 foot travel trailer with a gvwr of 5000 pounds. I need to get it up a steep about 35 degree incline, straight, concrete driveway thats about 85 feet long. Pulling it with a tow vehicle is not an option. Ideally, Id like to mount a winch at the top of the driveway to pull up the trailer. I realize Ill need a 12 volt power supply at the top thinking Id just buy a deep cycle battery to power the winch. Would this winch work or do you recommend something else?

Since you are pulling your trailer up at a 35 degree incline and there will be multiple layers wrapped around the winch (as that makes a difference) the Bulldog Winch Off-Road Winch # BDW10042 rated at 9,500 lbs is exactly what you need.
Installing it with a battery at the top of your driveway is a great idea. One thing to keep in mind is that the winch has a continuous run time of 2 minutes. At 0 lbs the line speed is 19 FPM (Feet Per Minute) but at the full 9,500 lbs your line speed changes to 4 FPM. Since your driveway is 85 feet long it may take a little bit to get your trailer all the way up.
