Compatibility of Reese Goose Box for CM Flat Bed with Recessed Gooseneck Hitch Ball

Question:

I have a 2013 Ram 3500 SRW with a CM flat bed model RD. My bed has a fixed, recessed gooseneck ball that sits just below the flatbed surface. The opening of the recessed gooseneck ball is 14” side to side x 15-1/2” front to back. Will a ReeseGoosebox RP9463 work with this style bed?

My contact at Reese says it will work fine in a CM Flatbed with the recessed gooseneck hitch. At 4 inches from the very bottom of the coupler where it connects to the gooseneck hitch ball, the clamp mechanism of the Goose Box # RP85FR (replacement for the RP9463) at its very widest point is just 7-1/2 inches. The Because that clamp mechanism will sit about 1-1/2 inches above the floor of the recessed area, the Goose Box will have more than enough clearance to work just fine in that 14 x 15-1/2 inch recessed area.
