2018 f150 6-1/2 bed what is the measurement from the back of the bed to the first rail

Expert Reply:
For rail placement using 5th wheel installation kit # RP56034-53 on your 2018 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2 foot bed you will first measure from the rear edge of the bed (not the tailgate) forward 28-5/16 inches. This is where the back edge of the rear rails will be. Then what you would do is get that rail into position and use the hitch, or just its legs, to locate the position of the forward rail. The back edge of the front rail will be approximately 22 inches forward of the back edge of the rear rail but the instructions want you to use the hitch to locate the front rail as described above.
I have included a picture that should help along with a link to the instructions for kit # RP56034-53. And I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
