Recommended Rear View Camera Connection with RCA Adapter for Monitor

Updated 01/15/2021 | Published 04/20/2018

Question:

I’d like to connect the video output to my Edge CTS2 monitor that has a RCA video in port. Is there an adaptor to connect the Hopkins 8 pin harness to an RCA jack? This would allow me to have one less monitor screen on my dash as I could do away with the small Hopkins video screen provided.

Expert Reply:

The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002 and 8 pin cord does not have an RCA adapter. If you were to instead use the Rear View Safety License Plate Backup Camera # RVS-778 then your RCA connection would be possible.

There are no adapters like what you're looking for. We do have some cameras that will tie into a pickup truck monitor but they are specific fits. If you check out our fitguide or let me know the year/make/model of your truck I can see if we have anything available.

@NathanG Unfortunately we don't have anything designed to work with that vehicle like this. For your application you're going to need to use one of the universal options in the linked selection.
