There are quite a few powered jacks that you can over extend if you are not careful. It's hard to know exactly when to stop holding the button so the best option is to go with a powered jack that will stop automatically before overextending and damaging itself.
My favorite powered jack to recommend is the Husky Jack part # HT87247 as it has bearings in the screw which allow it to operate quicker and smoother. It also shuts off automatically before topping or bottoming out. Other jacks will allow you to go too far with the jack but in doing so you damage the threads of the screw.
