Longer Strap Recommendation for Canoe Carrier Securing Canoe on Camper Shell

Question:
I have a F250 King Ranch with the Yakima Whispbar HD rack system on the cap. The racks are about 5 feet apart. I have a 14 foot cane and want to carry in from DC to Mississippi. When I put the canoe on the racks With the Yakima canoe keelover brackets, the front does not come anywhere close to the front windshield so I can not secure it from the front of the truck at all. The canoes bow only comes to about the mid point of the sun roof. Is it necessary to secure it to the front of the vehicle in this situation? Thank you.

You'd have to go with a longer set of straps to get you the additional length you'd need. The ShockStrap Cam Buckle Tie-Down Strap # 297-19BR is a 19 foot long strap that would work great for you.
