An American Sail 18 is carried on the trailer. Can the Fulton #FGB1500100 be adapted to work with that combination?

The Fulton Boat Guide, # FGB1500100, is designed for up to 3 x 5 inch trailer frames, but not any specific trailers. Provided that the trailer frame on your 2000 Performance Trailer is within the 3 x 5 inch range, it will fit.
Since the guide is made of PVC, you will not be able to manipulate that portion of it, should it not quite match the boat correctly. You may need to modify the mounting bracket, or fabricate your own, to get it in the position you need for the boat.
Another option is the Cushioned Fulton Boat Guide, # FBGR200101. It is also made to fit up to 3 x 5 inch trailer frames and is adjustable to fit any hull design.
