Options for Accessing the Battery for Wiring a Tow Ready Wiring # 118498 on a 2011 Toyota Sienna

Currently installing 118498 T-One Connector on my 2011 Senna XLE. Ran the battery wire inside up to the firewall and am looking for the best way through to get access to the battery. Any advice?

You have a couple options at this point. You can either find a way to route the wire through the firewall either by finding a hole in the firewall or drilling a hole in the firewall, or you can route the wire out through one of the drain plugs in the floorboards of vehicle

Sometimes it can be difficult to locate existing holes in the firewall, and if you do find one it will appear to be so tight with wires already that it does not seem possible to get another wire through. If this is the case you can use a ToyLok Toolbox Adapter Drill Bit # TL010 to drill another hole in the firewall and use the included grommet to prevent the wire from getting damaged.

The other option of a hole in the floorboards is also a viable and the often preferred method. To access these holes you will need to pull back the carpet to the point where you can see the metal floorboard. You will be looking for black circular rubber grommets that you can slice a hole in with a razor. You will want to feed the wire through the hole and then use zip ties to secure the wire to the frame rail and up to the battery of your vehicle. You will want to take extra care to avoid pinch areas and hot exhaust components that might damage the wire.
