Question:
Is the Yakima hold up bike rack compatible with the hidden hitch and the 2011 Subaru Outback?

Expert Reply:
While the Yakima Holdup will fit and work well with the Draw-Tite Class III receiver, there will probably not be enough clearance between the receiver hitch pin hole and the furthest rearward point of the rear bumper for the rack to fold into the upward position. The hitch pin hole to end of bumper measurement on your Outback is approximately 7 inches, which is also how long the shank of the bike rack is once it is folded.
The Kuat Sherpa, which is available in grey as part # SH22G offers 9-inches of clearance with the rack folded to the upward position, which will easily clear your rear bumper.
