Can a Roof Rack Be Left On Through a Car Wash

Question:
I have a Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack with a Thule Podium Style Foot Pack #3142 mounted on my 2017 Jeep GC. They have been securely installed by my Jeep dealer. I wonder whether there is any risk pf damage from taking the vehicle through a mechanized car wash. Of course the guys at the car wash say its no problem but I wonder what you experts think.

Helpful Expert Reply:
We usually recommend removing the roof rack and any rooftop mounted accessories while running the vehicle through a car wash because if damage were to occur, it would more than likely not be covered by the manufacturer. However, this primarily is an issue on vehicle's that use car clips and as your vehicle does not use car clips, you would probably be fine with leaving the rack installed.
