Installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 in a 2005 Monaco Signature w/Detroit Diesel

Question:
My RV has the 7pin connector installed for trailer towing. What else do I need beside the Tekonsha P3 controller to have an operable hook up? Is there an adaptable wiring harness that I need to get? My 2005 Monaco Signature w/Detroit Diesel is 45 foot long. Does this appear to be a difficult installation? Thank you,

Installing a brake controller in a Class A RV like your 2005 Monaco Signature can sometimes be a little tricky because there is no standard location for the brake controller wiring.
Typically we have found that there is no plug-in adapter for Class A RVs, but you can usually find a wiring harness under the driver seat that has the appropriate wires needed for installation.
For the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 you will connect the White wire to Ground, the Black wire to 12V Power, the Blue wire to the wire that runs to your 7-Way, and the Red wire to the COLD side of the stop light switch (only gets hot when the brake pedal is pressed). You can use a circuit tester, like part # 40376, to verify which wires under your chair are for which functions.
