Yes, a WiFi camera such as the Rear View Safety WiFi Hitch Backup Camera System part # RVS-83112-WIFI does not require access to the internet therefore will work out in the boonies where no internet connection is present. The transmitter built into the camera creates a WiFi network that will work anywhere. This technology is similar to Bluetooth in that a wireless signal is transmitted from one device to another without an internet connection
