Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 2018 Airstream Flying Cloud

In order to choose the correct weight distribution system, you will need to find the total tongue weight (TTW) of your towing setup by adding the tongue weight (TW) of both your loaded ready to tow trailer and any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.

An easy way to find this would involve using a tongue weight scale like the Trailer Tongue Weight Scale part # e99044. When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want your TTW to fall in the middle of the weight distributions weight capacity. For example, the ideal weight distribution system for a total tongue weight of 600 lbs. is one that is rated for 400-800 lbs. of tongue weight.

Assuming your TTW does not exceed 800 lbs, I recommend using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-0800. The Fastway e2 is an excellent weight distribution system for you. The 2-point sway control will do a great job of reducing side-to-side movement of your trailer. It is also very easy to install and use as shown in the attached video.

Follow on question - fastwaye2 recommended over equalizer brand? Fastway 2-point sway control better than equalizer 4-point? I don't know anything, just want to make sure I've covered all my bases.

In regards to your particular situation and total tongue weight, I would recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution over the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System. The reason for this is that Equal-i-zer does not really have an effective system for a TTW of 600 lbs whereas Fastway does. Equal-i-zer makes a system for a TTW between 200-600 lbs using part # EQ37060ET and a system for a TTW between 600 -1000 lbs using part # EQ37100ET. Your 600 lbs of tongue weight will not really be ideal for either system as it would fall on the opposite end of each spectrum. You always want your TTW in the middle of the weight distributions weight capacity. The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-0800 is rated for a TTW between 400 lbs - 800 lbs which will do a much better job of distributing weight and reducing sway than either of the Equal-i-zer systems will. You may also need a hitch ball for this system and for that I recommend part # 63840.
