Curt or Draw Tite Trailer Hitch Recommendation for Carrying Cargo Carrier with 2013 Volvo XC90

Question:
Difference between DrawTie 75152 and Curt 13559 is the Non Weight Distributing Carrying capacity, 500/5000 vs 350/3500. 1 Does this mean I can only put 350 lbs max on a hitch cargo carrier with the Curt hitch or can it be 500? 2 Why is there a different rating for the Weight Carrying Hitch? 3 Is the DrawTie 75152 the same as the HiddenHitch 87810? thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
For a cargo carrier application the Draw Tite hitch part # 75152 that you referenced would be the better choice. This has the higher 500 lb tongue weight capacity which is the correct figure to use for a cargo carrier. Weight distribution capacity is when you use a weight distribution hitch. Which can't be used with a cargo carrier.
Hidden Hitch is no longer made, but they were made by the same company as Draw Tite so they were the same hitch.
I attached an install video for this hitch on a similar 2013 XC90 as yours for you to check out as well.
