Will Jensen DVD Player JDVD1500 Also Play Music CDs
Question:
1. Want to make sure this will play musical cds? Its will be the main use of this item. 2. I assume we will have to purchase speakers to go with the unit?

Digital disc players like the Jensen DVD Player # JDVD1500 are made to be backward-compatible.
This means that a DVD player will be able to play the older (and lower data rate) CD discs. But an older CD player will NOT be able to play the newer-format (higher data rate) discs like DVDs or BluRay discs. This Jensen unit will be fine to play music CDs.
This DVD player will require connection to an amplifier which will then provide power to the speakers connected to the amplifier. This Jensen player is a source component that provides a signal to downstream components but it does not amplify that signal enough for speakers.
