My contact at Phoenix Faucets confirmed that installation of their Replacement Vacuum Breaker part # PF273002 does NOT require complete removal of the entire faucet fixture. The breaker is most easily removed using a 6-inch crescent wrench. The instruction sheet for this item is linked for your reference and it includes a toll-free number in the event you need to contact Phoenix Faucets.
