Replacing the Straps on a KingJoe Pro 3 Bike Rack

Question:
I recently ordered and just received the replacement straps set of 3 for my Yakima King Joe Pro 3inch car bike carrier. My question is, since it does not seem at all obvious how you get the old damaged straps off to replace them, and since the basic mechanism that straps are attached to seems like it doesnt want to move, how is the replacement to be accomplished? It would seem as though the basic units 3 on each side, for a total of 6 would need to slide off in some manner in order to get to the old straps and replace them? Any assistance/advice here would be most appreciated - thanks!

To replace these, you'll need to remove the cradles. There is a phillip's head screw on the outside of both arms holding the cradles in place, and then a second screw on the inside of the arms near the end.
This will remove the cradles, letting you replace the straps that are mounted underneath.
