Recommended Replacement Head for Reese 15K 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:
I bought it and put it in my truck in 2008. It is a 1500 lb Reese and it has a slide bar that locks 5 th wheel into it. The flat lion slide bar has a half circle worn into it so I was trying to take bar out but it has tabs pressed so that you can’t get it out so don’t think a welder could fill this in and grind down when it’s still in hitch. Do I have to buy new whole thing or do you think I can take apart.

For your Reese 15K hitch, you will need to replace the head. I recommend the Replacement Pro Series Head for 15K Fifth Wheel # 58165 for you application. This head will come with the new slide bar integrated.
