Thule Spare Me Bike Rack Wont Tighten All the Way Down Any More

Question:
After 4 years of use, my Thule Spare Me bike rack no longer tightens all the way down. It starts spinning when its nearly completely threaded. Over the years Ive taken it on and off repeatedly and tightened it down hard. Im wondering if some threads on the knob shaft or the mounting plate have been stripped. If so, Im not sure which of these parts would need replacement. The parts Im looking at are: mounting plate 753-3532 and threaded shaft 753-1908-4. Thanks for your help.

If the threads of either the knob or mounting plate have been damaged most likely both are damaged and in need of being replaced. So your best option would be to get the part # 753-3532 but the locking knob is no longer a replacement part available from the manufacturer.
