The "C" on your Prodigy brake controller like # 90885 means that you have a trailer connected. Your brake controller is simply recognizing there is a draw on the brake output and your brakes should work well. When you hit your manual override or your brake pedal that should change to a voltage output reading with numbers. I've attached the instructions to assist.
The "C" should change to "NC" when the trailer is not connected. Let me know if you need to do further troubleshooting.
