In order to run a Tekonsha Brake Controller # 90885 to your 1990 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 Silverado, you will need a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions for this product for you to check out, this will walk you through every step of installing the # 90885 on your truck as well as provide everything you would need to do it.
The blue wire is the brake output wire that will run to the 7-way of the # ETBC7.
The red wire is the brake wire switch wire that will be run to the back of your brake pedal. You will want to attach it to the circuit that only sees power when the brake is applied. A circuit tester # PTW2993 would be very helpful with this.
The white wire is the ground wire and will need to be grounded on the negative side of the battery.
The black wire will need to be run through a 30 amp fuse to the positive post of the vehicle battery.
