Question:

Looking for a hitch for my BMW X1 2012. On your site, you indicate two models Curt 13140 and Draw-Tite 75761. You say that they both fit my 2012 X1, but both manufacturers Ive reached are saying that it only fits 2013 and newer. Can you assure me without any doubts that these fit my 2012 ?

As long as your 2012 BMW X1 has the panoramic sunroof, both the Draw-Tite Class III Receiver Hitch # 75761 and Curt # C13140 will fit perfectly on your vehicle.

Between the two models, I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 75761 because unlike Curt, Draw-Tite does not require you to use stabilizing straps for non-trailer loads such as bike racks and cargo carriers. The Draw-Tite model also features a higher 3,500 pound towing weight capacity and 400 tongue weight capacity than the Curt alternative. The Curt model has a 2,500 pound towing capacity and a 250 pound tongue weight capacity.
