Question:
My subaru dealer tried installing the 75673 drawtite hitch on my 2011 outback and reported the hitch holes would not align. With the car up on the lift, the dealer showed me with the driver side holes aligned, the passenger side holes were not matching up 1/2 off or more. Have you encountered this before? They aborted the install as a result before attempting to enlarge the holes in the frame.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75673 is a confirmed fit for your 2011 Outback Wagon as long as it isn't the sport model. It is very rare for a hitch not to fit and we have never had one that isn't dropped or bent that will not fit in the way shown on your photo. If it is not bent from being dropped, then there is a chance it was a manufacturer defect and should be returned. I've attached the installation details that show drilling is required for this installation but not for those frame holes but rather an access hole to allow the fish wire to get the bolts in place.
If you have the sport model, I recommend the Curt # C11315 which is a confirmed fit. Draw-Tite does not have a fit for the sport model.
