Question:
I am looking for a custom hitch for a lowered custom truck not one made for the specific vehicle, they all way too much for my application. I am trying to make a hidden hitch as level as possible behind the license plate. I have a custom pickup with a frame that is 34inch wide, outside to outside. I want a hitch that is flat with very little if any so I can make it a hidden hitch behind the license plate. There is no bumper on the pickup, no spare tire under it and nothing else in the way and the rear valance tapers up where the license plate goes. The frame is level with the bottom of the rear valance at its lowest point other than where it tapers up out of the way for the license plate which is where the receiver would go. The hitch type I want is very similar to the Curt 14055 however I understand the center to center width on the bolt holes for the 14055 is in the 38inch range so it is too wide for my 34inch wide frame I need somewhere around a 31inch center to center on the holes or whatever is standard for a 34inch wide frame. Is there a hitch similar to the 14055 for a 34inch frame? Thanks for taking the time to help. Its frustrating that none of the hitches give dimensions and the only way to look them up is by specific vehicle. I need a custom application. Photo attached with an arrow showing the frame bottom level with the lower rear valance. The pickup in case you absolutely need to know is a 62 Ford F100 however is should make no difference as long as it is flat or very little and fits flat to a 34inch wide frame, my frame is level all the way back anyplace that the hitch would mount. And anything I would pull would be very light weight, no heavy loads with this truck at all.

We carry universal trailer hitch receivers that are mainly used on the back of motorhomes and trailers but there's no reason they can't be installed on a truck.
For your Ford I recommend the Draw-Tite # 5350 which fits frames from 24 to 46 inches. You will need to drill into your truck's frame.
Another option that can be bolted or welded to the frame is the Curt # C13702. It fits frames from 18 to 51 inches.
Both hitch receivers are 2 inch, Class III hitches. The top of the cross tube on both of them sits about 2 inches below the top of the mounting brackets.
