Question:

Hello, I have a 2008 Dodge Dakota 4x4 with the 4.7 V8 in it and I frequently tow my camper with it. Id like to put a trans cooler on it and I was looking at the class 5 flex a lite coolers you have. I do tow it through the mountains occasionally so Id like to get as much cooling as possible. My question, what kind of adapters do I need to get this to hook up to the factory cooler lines? Or will I have to do some modifications?

All of our transmission coolers are universal in fit and work on a variety of vehicles. However, we do have kits listed in our fit guide that are based on the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of your 2008 Dodge Dakota. I have attached a list of these options for you.

The only adapter you will want to use while installing a transmission cooler on your vehicle is the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for Dodge Dakota part # D13030. The Flex-a-lite Translife Transmission Cooler w/ Guard part # FLX4126V is an excellent choice for your vehicle as it is the largest cooler we have as a confirmed fit. In addition to it's shear size, the tube and fin technology built into the cooler is far superior to the standard plate and fin design. I recommend this option over the Flex-a-lite Translife Transmission Cooler part # FLX4126 as it has a built in shield to protect the internals of the cooler whereas the the other does not. However, both are great options rated for use with your vehicle.

I have attached a video review of this cooler for you.
