Swapping Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller from 2008 Dodge Ram to 2011 Model

Question:
Can this unit be installed in a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 with the Hemi engine. The truck has the 4 way and 7 way plugs already. I had this unit in my 2008 Ram but they said it could not be used in the new one. the P2 was in my 2004 Ram before the 08.

As brake controllers are not vehicle specific, they can be installed in virtually any vehicle. Since your Ram is already equipped with the tow package wiring, installation will be simple.
You will need a different brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3021-P because the adapter for the 2008 Ram will not work on the 2011 model.
The connector for the brake controller is located behind and a bit above the emergency brake pedal. You will see a small white junction box mounted to the firewall. The connector will be located just above this junction box.
I will provide a link to the user instructions for the Prodigy P2, in case you no longer have them.
