I was wondering the distance measured for the end of the box to the rail on an 06 crew cab sierra 1500

If you have a 5 ft 8 inch or 6 ft 6 inch bed on your 2006 Sierra, the distance from the back of the truck bed to the edge of the first rail is 25-1/8 inch.
If you have an 8 ft truck bed then the distance is 30 inches.
If you have the 5 ft 8 inch bed, you will need a stationary fifth wheel hitch with the installation kit like part # RP30035. You will also need a Sidewinder pin box on your trailer. If you let me know what make and model pin box you have on your trailer I will be glad to give you a recommendation that will work for you.
