Question:
Hi Conner, This summer I purchased a Sonic travel trailer. When we made our shake-down trip, we discovered that having a portable tote tank for extended trips is going to be pretty much a necessity. I was looking at the Barker tanks which look to be well made and had initially selected their 32 gallon tank: However, I find that the Sonic's sewer drain is only about 10" above ground level. This means that I need a tote tank with a tank fill opening height of less than 10". I'm not having much luck in finding such a low silhouette tank. The only low silhouette tank I've found is the 15 gallon tent camper tote-along which measures 7.75" high: This probably meets the low profile criteria I need, but it is a light duty tank that would not hold up to being towed by my truck to a dump station. It also holds less than half the capacity of the Sonic holding tanks. I would like a towable tank with a larger capacity, but obviously can't use a tank with a 11" (or greater) tank height. Do you know of any other options?

Generally speaking, it is recommend that you remove the spring bars from a weight distribution system such as the Curt Trunnion Style Weight Distribution System part # 17300 while in reverse. This is due to the fact the the spring bars will not have enough room to pivot in the head while turning in reverse.
However, this will only occur while reversing with the trailer at an angle. As long as you remain in a straight line, you will not need to remove the spring bars in order to reverse the vehicle and trailer.
In regards to the transmission temperature while towing, it is also a good idea to add a supplemental cooler. I cannot say for certain as to how high the temperature will rise however, as these vehicle were not necessarily built for towing, it will be a good idea for you to install one. The best transmission cooler for you to use will be the largest one is the available space you have between the radiator and grill. For your 2015 Ford Edge, I recommend using the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13503 as this will be an excellent option for you to consider.
Should you decide to use a different transmission cooler, I have attached a list to all of our cooler options.
