I have a 2003 chevy Silverado 1500 ext can 4x4 short bed I was woundering what the measurements are for the rails

For your 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 short bed you would want a custom install Reese fifth wheel rail kit like the part # RP58208-58 which is custom fit for your truck which means a shorter install time an no frame drilling.

The rear rail edge installed will be 25-1/8 inches from the rear edge of the truck bed. You then use the fifth wheel hitch to place the front rails so that the hitch will sit perfectly in the rails.
