Question:

I have Yakima 2 bike-bike rack. It requires a 2 inch receiver. I now have a smaller car with a 1-1/4 receiver. Are there parts to make this conversion?

Expert Reply:

If you have a 2-inch Yakima Holdup bike carrier like part # Y02443, we have a replacement tongue, part # 8880581, that can be used to make the bike carrier a 1-1/4 inch carrier.

I spoke with my contact at Yakima and they said an adapter cannot be used with any of their bike carrier to reduce the tongue other than the Holdup bike rack I mentioned above.
