What is Purpose of Blue Button on Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller

Question:

I have a Tekonsha, Primus, controller in my RV. It was installed by Camping World, and was done incorrectly, as they connected the red wire to the left turn signal light. Having chased the wiring and fixed the problem, I would like to know what the blue button on top of the unit does and what indicators mean when they appear on the readout. Thank you

The blue button located on top of the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 is the "boost button". The boost button is designed to allow for a more aggressive setting for the trailer brakes. This means that it will start the voltage sent back to the trailer brakes higher so that it ramps up to whatever the controller is set to sooner.

You can press on this button to display the current settings, and then advance to the next level by continuing to push the button (b.1, b.2, b.3). Five seconds after setting the boost level, the display will show ".c.", which indicates that the boost is on.
