can this faucet be used without its base plate?. My existing faucet has only the center hole installation.

the Phoenix Faucets 8 Inch Single Handle RV Kitchen Faucet, # PF231321, might be the best option for your trailer's sink. This faucet is designed to be installed in either a one or three hole sink mount.
The Ultra Fab Faucet, # 277-000182, that you referenced can only be installed in a three hole sink mount. Therefore, this faucet is not compatible to your sink.
