You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993, shown in the linked video, to test the wires at the taillight assembly of your 2016 Ram 1500 to find the ones that carry the running light and stop/turn signals. Vehicles do not use any standardized wire colors for these functions so testing is the best way to determine the wires for connecting a light such as the Reese LED Lighted Vehicle Emblem # RP86619.
With this light the white wire is ground, the brown wire connects to the truck's running light wire and the red wire connects to its stop light wire.
