Which Husky 5th Wheel Slider Base to Use with Hitch Head 31326
Updated 06/20/2020 | Published 04/28/2017 >
Question:
What is the difference in Husky Ht32042 and Ht31196. Notice the Ht32042 is rated for 26k but is a few dollars less than Ht 31196 which is rated at only 16k. Thinking of pairing the slider with head Ht31326.

The Husky 26K-rated Composite Slider assembly # HT32042 and the similar # 16K-rated Slider # HT31196 differ in weight capacity as you noted and also in their material for the slider. The slider # HT32042 uses composite materials inside that avoid metal-on-metal contact for quieter operation. The composite model also weighs more since it is built to handle 10,000-lbs more trailer weight.
The correct base for use with hitch head 31326 is part # HT31196. The bolt holes for the head will not line up with those on the composite slider base. I confirmed with my contact at Husky.

You likely answered this, but... I have a Husky 16 KW Silver series (31326) mounted on a 2019 Silverado 2500HD with 6 1/2 foot bed (husky in be rail kit). Not happy with the "Turning Point inbox on my Reflection. Is it possible to swap the stationary base/leg of the 5th wheel hitch with a slider base (HT31196)? Will the mount holes match the head OK and will the base fit my current in bed rails (they are 22 inches apart?
