Do Pedals Need to be Removed to Mount Bikes on Hollywood Over-the-Top 2 Bike Carrier

Question:
I see in the 2013 Rav4 video the pedals were removed from the bike before it was placed in the rack. Is pedal removal required.

Pedal removal is not a standard step for mounting a bike rack on a trunk rack like the Hollywood Racks Over the Top part # HRF2 that you referenced. In the attached RAV4 install video the pedals are off the bike as the bike is a demo-only bike and it was basically given to us without pedals.
